Hi Dawn,

You might find this info helpful: File Size vs. Resulting Print Quality

Thanks for your input! That's probably what I will do. Maybe once I get enough pages designed to make a book, I'll upload one or two at the highest setting, just to see if I can see a difference in the final product. Thanks again!]

Hmmm.... It is hard to guess just based on file size, since that can vary depending on how many pictures or other things you have on a page.

When I change my 12x12 scrapbook layouts to 9x9 pages - they usually run 1-1.5MB per page. So my guess would be whatever setting gets you somewhere in the 1.5-2MB range.

Hi Jane, thanks for replying! The jpeg setting doesn't seem to affect the page dimensions, just the size of the file. Looking at the software more closely, I see now that the first dialog box, where I set the page dimesions, can be set in inches, cm, or pixels. Setting it to 11" x 8.5" is the same as 3300 x 2550 pixels, so I know that's correct. I'm guessing that the jpeg setting, then, has to do with file compression? I'm not sure how much this impacts image quality. I guess what I need to know is what is the "typical" file size of an 11" x 8.5" page. At the "normal" setting I get a file size of about 400 kbytes; at the "highest" setting I get a file size of about 4 mbytes. Or I can choose a setting somewhere in between those numbers. If I save the same page 3 or 4 times with different settings each time, and then upload them to my account, can somebody in customer service look at those pages and tell me if there is any significant quality difference among them? Thanks!

For an 11"x8.5" book your image/page file size should be 3300 x 2550 pixels per inch. Not sure what setting that would be for your software, do you have a setting between normal and highest? In Photoshop Elements it has a 0-12 scale and I usually save at a 10.

Upload settings for scrapbook pages

Hello! I have been using Scrapbook Factory Deluxe V4.0 to create pages, but am a little confused about what settings I should use when I save each page as a jpeg. When I choose to "export as image", I first get a dialog box that allows me to set the page dimensions (in inches) and resolution (in pixels per inch). But then there is another dialog box where I can change the jpeg quality--this is what is confusing me.() I've been setting the dimensions at 11"x8.5" and the resolution as 300 pixels per inch, but I'm not sure what to do with the jpeg quality. If I leave that setting at "normal", I get a file size of about 400 kbytes. If I set it to "highest", I get a file size of about 4 mbytes. Any clue what a good setting would be? I don't want to lose resolution, but I also don't want unnecessarily large files. Thanks for any insight!!()
