Paper choice for photos ?

Posted:04 Apr 2008 (10:19 UTC)Hi again Connie !
Thanx for the reply...
What I'm concerned about is the possibilities of getting this "coppering" effect on the printed page using Silk Gloss.
That is different levels of shine to different parts of the image because of the ink/paper combination...
For example a deep black area might appear shinier/glossier than a lighter area where there is less ink...
I just wanted to get a feel for if this is something that is noticeble or not ?
That's why I wanted to get some feed back on possibly using the satin matte paper instead to get a more smoother uniform look on the printed page.
The trade off is obviously losing some of the deep blacks, but gaining a "smoother" look...
Thanx for any input.
Planning to do a testrun and compare directly but would appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thanx

Paper choice for photos ?
Posted:03 Apr 2008 (12:20 UTC)Hello again !
I'm contemplating producing a book with mainly photos + some drawings and would like to ask forum members or support staff about the paper options You provide.
Of course I've read Your recommendations about using Satin Matte vs Silk Gloss for deeper blacks...
My only concern is what sometimes is called "coppering" where there are different levels of shine to different parts of the image because of the ink/paper combination...
Normally I'd prefer Silk Gloss but in case there is a risk for this I might go for a more uniform look of the printed page with Satin Matte.
Any thoughts on this anyone ???
Thanx
