There are no know issues with servers as we keep our servers in a very high quality data center. Usually the trouble with FTP (or web) happens between the laptop and your ISP. Laptop's can be notoriously troublesome for uploads as the can go to sleep mid-transfer, or the wifi can drop out and get everything confused.
When uploading, check your power settings and make sure you don't move the laptop around to much and cause a blip in the data stream.

How about FTP uploads? I tried that also, and did not succeed. It just stopped loading.
I use Fetch as the FTP client software.
