Ireland Book

Wow - what a beautiful country. Ireland is lush, green and friendly. If you enjoy the countryside, beautiful vegetation, birds, and a rural atmosphere Ireland should be on your wish list. The total population of Ireland is only 3.8 million with half of that total living in Dublin, the country’s capitol city. Irish social life revolves around the family and the pub. Now that all pubs (and indoor spaces in general) throughout Ireland are totally non-smoking you can comfortably experience the Irish pubs. You can sit for hours nursing one Guinness - or enjoy a great “pub grub” dinner. The locals are friendly and open and will happily speak for hours about their favorite sports teams. My personal favorite area of Ireland is the southwest. An area bordered on the north by Galway (a medieval - now university town) and on the south by County Kerry & County Cork. There is plenty to see and do in this area for a nice two week vacation. The photos in this book were taken during a 15 day trip though southwest Ireland in June 2007. The trip was organized and booked though Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) and my wife Sheila and I were part of a group of 14 people - all Americans.
