WELCOME HOME
Bernie's trip to his Forever Home was scheduled and rescheduled. I was getting a little discouraged. Then as soon as one cancelation was made, the real thing happened unexpectedly. I got an email telling me that he would be arriving in two days.
A volunteer pilot and his wife flew him and another dog being delivered to Seattle, from Durango, Colorado to Salt Lake City. Then another rescue volunteer drove him from Salt Lake City to Boise, Idaho where he was well cared for overnight. Yet another rescue volunteer drove him the next morning the rest of the way to Kirkland. Kelly picked Bernie up and brought him to me. He jumped out of the back of the truck and came right to me. Into the back yard he ran. It was as though he had already been part of the family. He appeared to have been well fed, packing an extra ten pounds.
