As much joy as Marshall and Ben bring to my life, I could not help but still recognize the loss of Barney. I continued to watch all the labs and lab mixes at the parks. One day I saw a man and a very svelt beauty. I asked him what kind of dog he owned as I had not seen one like this before. He told me, a German Short-haired Pointer.

Immediately I knew that was the breed I wanted. A water dog just like Barn. The search was on.
