Surfing Pelicans

Anita, I agree with you, they are something wonderful to watch. I have been surfing for over 50 years, in those years I have seen many great things at the beach.

Christell: I'm very happy that you like that photo. I just held my button down and took about 50 pictures as they flew by. At 4.5 pictures a second, they add up really fast.

Karen, thanks for the kind words. There have been hundreds of times when I was in the water (surfing) as they flew by. Sadly I didn't have my camera with me at those times - the salt water would ruin it. Pelicans do that, around here (SoCal), in the early morning hours. They are wonderful to watch as they glide by they appear to be riding the waves. Although, I'm sure thats not what they are doing - after all - it's breakfast time for them.
