Australia & New Zealand Spring 2012
Al & Mike Treder spent 4 days in New Zealand and 12 days in Australia in early November 2012, and this is their story. Most of the time in New Zealand was spent around Rotorua, on the North Island. In Australia they spent three days touring Sydney, two days at Marcoola Beach, and the rest of the time up at Port Douglas, where they joined Rick Brown's Eclipse Chasers group. Around Port Douglas they went out to the Great Barrier Reef, took cable car rides over and walked through rain forests, rode on the Kuranda scenic railway, and wound up watching a total solar eclipse. The primary photographer, Al Treder, is obsessed with sunrises and sunsets, so this book has a lot of them, including the front and back covers. Alan Stiehl contributed two pages of photos, one on the railroad excursion, and one on Rocky Point beach for the eclipse.
