Japan Book
Wow - what a beautiful country! Japan is lush, green and friendly. If you enjoy the
countryside with its beautiful vegetation, plus bustling cities with amazing people, then
put Japan high on your “must see list”. The total population of Japan is 120 million
with all of the people living in an area the size of California. The populated areas are
further restricted since Japan is 75% uninhabitable mountains and 15% farmland.
The Japanese people are funny, helpful, industrious and fashion conscious. Japan, even
with its high population density, is a very clean and health conscious country. They have
an outstanding transportation system that is fast, efficient and always on-time.
Japan’s history dates back several thousand years, and the Japanese have gone though
several devastating wars, yet they have restored their National Treasures. The country is
dotted with castles, gardens, palaces, shrines and temples.
My personal favorite area of Japan is the City of Koyoto. Koyoto was Japan’s ancient
capitol and contains numerous gardens and temples, plus a great shopping district as well as lots of night spots. The traditions of the Geisha are kept alive in Koyoto’s Gion
district’s private clubs and ceremonies.
